Weekend in NYC - the gershwin

The other weekend Ethan and I went NYC for our friend's 30th birthday party. Being frugal grad students, we stayed at the cheapest hotel we could find within a reasonable distance of her place. Usually staying in really cheap places makes me quite nervous (this one was even less than the YMCA), so i wasn't quite sure what to expect. but, the worrying was for nothing, cause when we got there, it turned out the hotel was amazing!! Its an old building that had previously been apartments and all of the rooms had hardwood floors and really old radiators. the new owners converted it into an art-themed hotel with these crazy horns on the front of the building and through the lobby. Our room was simple but very stylish and just felt very new york! Here are the first of a series pictures we took... i'll put up the others over the next couple days. In these photos, i'm wearing a vintage 40's dress and shoes and several pairs of tights from the typical places. my headband is from forever21.

  1. The hotel sounds really lovely. Fantastic dress, the subtle stripes look really wonderful, especially with the two tone shoes!

  3. What an adorable hotel! Just FYI, we're a bit north of the city, but if you ever need a place to crash, we have an uber-comfy full-size futon. However, we really can't stand up to the charm of those pictures! Glad you had fun!
